Sanju Samson came into reckoning with his gritty knocks for Rajasthan Royals in his debut season for the franchise. The wicketkeeper-batter from Kerala was groomed by Rahul Dravid into a tough campaigner. He joined the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) squad in 2016 and played some crucial innings for the team during his two seasons with them before moving back to Rajasthan Royals. Sanju scored 342 runs in IPL 2019 and then followed it up with 375 runs in the IPL 2020. He was moved into a senior position when named captain for the 2021 season. Short made his one day debut on 20 July 2014 for the Australia National Performance Squad against South Africa A, as part of the Australia A Team Quadrangular Series in 2014. He made his first-class debut for Cricket Australia XI on 29 October 2015 in a tour match against the New Zealanders as part of New Zealand's tour to Australia. He scored his maiden first-class century playing for Cricket Australia XI in a tour match against England at Townsville in mid-November 2017, scoring 51 in the first innings and then 134 not out in the second. He also took 4/103 with the ball.
In 2019, Short had a stint in England in club cricket for Coggeshall Town CC scoring 1100 runs at an average of 55.
For the 2021–22 Big Bash League season, Short moved from the middle order to open the batting, finishing the season with the second most sixes (26) and third-most runs (493). Strikers captain Peter Siddle said of the move: "Last year was all about finding a position for him because he’s been thrown around for a few years and hasn’t been able to lock down a spot ... We found that spot for him last year and he got all the confidence from being at the top of the order. He’s fearless and we saw that against the Sixers."
On 5 January 2023, captaining the Strikers in Peter Siddle's absence, Short made his maiden century in the Big Bash League, scoring 100* from 59 balls in the highest run chase in BBL history (230 runs). A slippery fast bowler, Matt Henry almost didn't play for New Zealand, as he underwent a major back surgery in 2012. Two years later, though, he was called up as cover during the ODI series against India, and thanks to a niggle to fellow injury-prone Hamish Bennett, Henry put the black cap on and registered the third-best figures for a New Zealand debutant in ODIs, claiming four wickets to seal New Zealand's 4-0 series triumph.
He played in only two matches in the 2015 World Cup, and incredibly they were the most important, the semi-final against South Africa and the final against Australia.
Henry would make his Test debut at Lord's on the subsequent tour of England and made an immediate impression taking 4 for 93 in the first innings. Over the next four years his body held up well as he was a fairly regular member of New Zealand's Test and ODI sides and played the occasional T20I.
In 2019, he was a key part of New Zealand's incredible World Cup campaign. He took 14 wickets, including 4 for 47 against Bangladesh. But he saved his best spell for the winning semi-final at Old Trafford where he ripped through India's top order, claiming 3 for 37 including the tournament's leading scorer Rohit Sharma. He also took the key wicket of Jason Roy in the epic final against England at Lord's.
Henry stays consistently over 140kmph, likes to bowl full, and had only taken four five-fors in 14 first-class games spread over three seasons when he was called up for what initially looked like an apprenticeship with the New Zealand senior team.

Like many leggies who make an impact in T20, Rahul Chahar is not a big turner of the ball, but has good loop and drift, and makes subtle use of his variations in length and pace.
Like his cousin Deepak, Chahar plays for Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy, for whom he made his first-class and List A debuts in 2016-17. Two seasons on, though the team had a dismal outing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Chahar was third on the wicket-takers' list for the tournament, with 20.
Rahul Chahar was a key member of Mumbai Indians' two IPL title-winning sides at the end of the 2010s. He took 28 wickets in the wins in 2019 and 2020. The year after he did just as well, taking 13 wickets and finishing as their second most prolific wicket-taker. He was bought by Punjab Kings in 2022 but his numbers off in the three seasons he spent there. He was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad for IPL 2025, where he is one of the two specialist legspinners alongside Adam Zampa.
